I began my career working in the men’s department of Los Angeles’ Ron Herman on Melrose, where one of my designs was quickly snatched up by the store’s impressed buyers. I eventually culminated my creative energy into my jewelry line, Toki Collection. Toki, which means “rabbit” in Korean, was my childhood nickname and a playful take on my full name. Within a year, I was dubbed a “Designer on the Rise” by the Chicago Tribune and a “Rising Star” by Daily Candy. Not resting on my laurels, I began studying metalsmithing, casting and stone setting, further mastering my skills. Now comfortably settled in my spacious work studio, my collections continue to be inspired by my worldly travels, organic objects found in nature, the hidden curiosities of fairy tales, and all things whimsical.
