I grew up in a large and goofy family of engineers and artists in Kinderhook, NY. I came to Minneapolis in 1980, went to the University of Minnesota, and began painting. I received a masterís degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2000.
I made costumes for theater (10 years) before becoming an exhibition technician in museums (20+ years). I now live in upstate New York with my family.
I have an enduring interest in portraiture and painting, and look to the Dutch masters first. I can only bring myself to paint animals, however.
