Stunning Southwestern landscapes and its lively spirit has inspired me to encapsulate this energy into wearable adornments. Sun scorched desert plateaus, silver swirling branches, amber canopy rocks, misty blue mountain sides, bleached cattle skulls – are all examples of imagery that I fabricate from. My work is an appropriation of the energy and charm that inhabits the southwest.
Working with wood enables me to toil more intuitively; carving away, joining together, and polishing at the end. Wood, as it is a living thing, has many special properties such as its natural tendency to harden and darken over time. I use these elements to my advantage when creating work that relates with the ever-changing southwestern landscape
