It is almost as if I have been “working” with my Mother my entire life. Although, I wouldn’t exactly call it work. I grew up in her clay studio, playing with clay and learning about the ceramic process. In 1996 my Mother and I created a business together that we call SoMi Tileworks. This business has come to life from the desire to make beautiful things for our own homes. We create high relief decorative ceramic tiles. Some of our tile pieces are arranged to create tile murals and some stand alone as decorative accents. We have taken tile, a basic utilitarian object, and created endless possibilities of design.
