If you have fire of the soul, then Vedic sages say it is reflected in the shining of your eyes. These current paintings, mostly abstract landscapes, are meditative reflections of an internal landscape — a place where my inner dialogue has no boundaries. The process is tactile as I rely on my hands to mix and manipulate the paint, rarely touching a paintbrush. For me, it’s tactile and reminiscent to the methodic slow building process of sculpting. Layers of paint, removing the paint, lines and sketches, old wallpaper, stuff…life is like that… sometimes it comes with ease, but mostly the magic reveals itself behind and through the layers. Movement, static stillness…it repeats itself and then ahhh…freedom. When I make art from a place of truth, which is always the intention, it is through a very candid dialogue with self, which can only mirror that which is within. Sat Chit Ananda.
And the number? Let’s just say a while back I started paying attention to the language of spirit and the sacredness of symbols.
