Beautiful things, for me, come about slowly. The act of making my art does not happen quickly as I spend many hours just looking at things, mostly discarded bits of junk that I find here and there. The process of organizing and building individual elements that were never intended to work together is where I thrive. The thought that these components can tell a story just by placing them together is exciting. While the basic concepts that I work with may be quite simple, the histories of each individual artifact create a richness and depth that I alone have never been able to achieve through traditional art making techniques. I find beauty in aged patinas and rusted metal, most of which were meant for the scrap heap.
