I create one-of-a-kind assemblages using salvaged metal, mixed media and found objects. My process begins with the thrill of hunting for rusted and road worn metal scraps which are then combined and transformed into beautiful objects. These works represent the parts of ourselves that are not always glittery—but it is often our rusty qualities that make us unique and interesting individuals.
My love of color, texture and process is also evident in my paintings, which I exhibit in galleries and museums around the country.
My interest is in the process of making objects that have rich, active surfaces, which springs from my background as a printmaker. I often finds myself treating my materials with a similar emphasis on line and surface, satisfying my constant need to draw, carve, etch, engrave, paint, tool, scratch, stitch and print lines.
